To My Mother,
The motivating theme that runs through my life is to help as
many people as I can. I use whatever talents I learned in the past and build on them.
The idea for the paper rings came about when I removed some
study material from a loose leaf binder, to study at a later time during the day. I realized that I needed
something to hold my papers together temporarily. So I pondered upon my thoughts, and my thoughts took me back
to my childhood.
When I was a child, my brother, my sister and I would get
together and make our toys. We of course, picked up on this talent from my mother Mrs. Rosina
Miro.
My mother could make a big something out of nothing. The
first time she shocked me with her talents was when she made a green dress for me to wear in a Cinderella play
in the second grade. She made the dress out of crepe paper that cost about one dollar. On the dress, she sewed
in short puff sleeves, puffed bottom that draped to my feet, and added three silver stars in a diagonal line
across the front. On the back of the dress she sewed on three silver snaps and a big fluffy bow. She also used
aluminum foil to make a wand ,and to add a star at the tip of it.
When I saw the dress along with my classmates for the first
time, my eyes were full of excitement along with the rest of the students. All I could think of was wow, how
did she do that? We all looked at her as if she was the fairy Godmother. She would always tell us "if we
didn't have something get there and make it".
After thinking about my childhood, I decided I would think
hard about a ring that would hold papers together temporarily. I thought if I could come up with a solution to
this problem, it would help others as well. I had other ideas in the past and watched others use them to go on
and get patents. This time I chose to get a patent so that I can use it to make more helpful products in the
future.
I received my talents from the Lord and my Mother.
Mom I Love you and you will always be as close as my
heart.
